Microsoft Garners Top Industry Awards From COMDEX. Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) this week will leave COMDEX/Fall '99 with 17 awards for product excellence from leading industry publications.

LAS VEGAS, November 18, 1999   - Microsoft garnered several awards for business productivity software, recognizing the company's tools for the knowledge worker. The awards reflect the success of the Microsoft(R) Office family of business productivity applications, which enable knowledge workers with the right information at the right time. The Office 2000 family of products won several awards, both for contributions as a cohesive suite and as individual applications. PC Computing honored Office 2000 Premium with the Most Valuable Product award in the Productivity Suite category and gave Most Valuable Product awards individually to the Outlook(R) 2000 messaging and collaboration client, PhotoDraw(TM) 2000 business graphics software and Publisher 2000. The Microsoft Office 2000 suite was also recognized by Home Office Computing for designing productivity software that best supports the needs of small businesses. The FrontPage(R) 2000 Web site creation and management tool, Publisher 2000, Outlook 2000 and the Office 2000 Small Business suite were named among Home Office Computing's 100 Best Products of the Year. "Receiving recognition from these respected publications means a great deal to us," said Steven Sinofsky, vice president, Office, Microsoft. Microsoft's Developer Division was recognized for its continuing contributions in e-commerce. For the second year in a row, PC Computing named Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0, the Windows(R) 2000 built-in Web server, and Microsoft Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition as Best Web Server and Best Commerce Server, respectively. Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 also displayed continued momentum over Lotus Notes by earning Best E-Mail Server from PC Computing. The following Microsoft products received awards at COMDEX:

Docuport Faxes, Scans, Prints, and Copies at Only Two Pounds

FAIRFIELD, N.J., January 19, 2000  - Docuport of Fairfield, N.J. announced today that its flagship product Docuport(TM) exceeded all expectations at the recent Comdex technology convention in Las Vegas. "In my 35 years in the electronics industry I have yet to see a product received more enthusiastically than the Docuport(TM) at the Comdex," states Norman Doctoroff, President/CEO of Docuport. The Docuport(TM) was also a featured product at the recent Consumer Electronics Convention in Las Vegas. Ricoh to Show CD-R/RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive at Comdex; Retail Package Shipping  Announcement to Follow Soon

TUSTIN, Calif., November 8, 1999  - Ricoh Corporation's Disc Media  and Systems Center (DMS-C) division announced its new four-in-one,  CD-R/RW/DVD-ROM combo drive will be demonstrated at Comdex. Ricoh DMS-C, which made the technology announcement several weeks ago, decided to speed up production on the new units based on early indications of strong business and consumer interest, according to Takayuki Kuroshima, Marketing/Business Development Manager for Ricoh DMS-C. The CD-R/RW/DVD-ROM combination will allow users to read DVD-ROM and CD-ROM, write to CD-R and rewrite to CD-RW media.  Ricoh's MP9060A drive will have a 6X CD-Recording speed, 4X CD-Rewriting, 24X CD-ROM reading and a 4X DVD-ROM reading speed. Ricoh DMS-C plans to bundle the MP9060A drive with Adaptec's Easy CD Creator, a CD-R/RW pre-mastering software; DirectCD, CD-R/RW packet writing software; and SOFTWARE CINEMASTER, DVD playback software.  Initial pricing for the MediaMaster series retail bundle is expected to be less than $400. The division's plans for future product sets are to increase drive speeds and add rewritable DVD capabilities, with emphasis on the compatibility with DVD-ROM technology. Ricoh is a member of the Optical Storage Technology Association, and contributes on the discussion of physical and logical compatibility of optical discs. Ricoh, the first manufacturer to deliver CD-rewritable drives and media, has used its position as both a media manufacturer and drive manufacturer to promote adoption of uniform standards within industry organizations.

NEC Technologies Receives MVP Award from PC Computing at Comdex MultiSync(R) MT1035+(TM) LCD Projector Selected as 'Best Boardroom Projector'
